Client: Defcon Pictures

Challenge: A Hollywood production company needed to create a comprehensive business plan and strategy reflecting its desire to build a vertically-integrated media company focusing on producing content in China for worldwide distribution.

Solution: The necessary deliverable was researched and drafted in a timely fashion, enabling the client to begin soliciting the required $20MM capital to realize his goals. To date, client has successfully secured bridge financing. Additionally, client has added the treatment for a proposed action adventure film currently under development by Black Rock Consulting’s principal to his production slate to present to investors.

Client: Safesearching / Intertube Media Network

Challenge: Lin Milano, the founder of Safesearching.com, the pioneering online community of celebrity Websites, was seeking to solicit outside capital in order to expand her operations and aggressively pursue the creation of original digital entertainment programming in conjunction with the network of celebrities serviced by her business.

Solution: A compelling business plan was written to assist the client in her fund-raising efforts and to provide strategic guidance while additional project management support was utilized to troubleshoot technical issues with the Safesearching Website. Through forensic investigation, it was determined that an outside Web developer had failed to live up to its commitments and significant money was recovered on the client’s behalf. In appreciation of his work, Black Rock Consulting’s founder has been named to Intertube’s Board of Advisors.

Client: Mr. H2O

Challenge: Mr. H2O is a small business offering water treatment products and service to commercial and residential accounts. The company had inherited previously existing accounts from another entity and needed to reassure those accounts that they would receive superior service, while actively courting new clients and establishing a meaningful brand identity.

Solution: Black Rock Consulting has been retained to assist in the marketing of Mr. H2O's products and services. This includes writing copy for Web and print-based promotional materials, creation of a brand tag line, guidance with customer service communications and research to assist in the formation of a strategic and forward-looking business plan.

Client: Wildlore

Challenge: A Tucson-based start-up company dedicated to preserving and promoting the traditional field craft and survival skills of indigenous people worldwide required marketing guidance and copywriting services.

Solution: Black Rock Consulting drafted copy for a variety of digital collateral to promote the company’s inaugural Native Tracker Training Event held over the July 4th weekend in 2005, featuring retired members of the Shadow Wolves, an elite federal law enforcement unit comprised entirely of Native American trackers. We also provided strategic marketing support and copywriting services to raise the company’s industry profile and promote brand awareness.

Client: Scorpio Sound LLC

Challenge: Client is a boutique full-service audio facility providing music composition, mixing, sound effects design and editing, and voiceover recording services to companies offering a range of filmed, live and digital entertainment products. Scorpio Sound was seeking to raise its profile in the industry and aggressively pursue new revenue streams to diversify its business model.

Solution: Black Rock's principal agreed to serve as the facility's General Manager and assumed operational, marketing and business development duties to facilitate the company's growth and future direction. Creative services were utilized to write marketing copy for a Flash-based Website as well as accompanying print collateral. A quarterly electronic newsletter was created to keep existing clients and prospective clients informed of the company's activities. Business development efforts led to the establishment of new relationships and additional revenue to the company.

Challenge: Client had previously developed an "unofficial" portal Website for the State of Vermont and was looking to update the existing, outdated static HTML Website with a new version that would offer an improved user interface, new functionality, and the ability to dynamically serve fresh content to visitors.

Solution: Black Rock Consulting provided guidance in the form of a comprehensive IDS document to enable the redesign of the site's user interface and modifications to the information architecture to make the site more user-friendly than the previously existing version. It also offered project management services to supervise the outside contractors engaged to execute the redesign.


Client: Vermont Studio

Challenge: Vermont Studio, which has served as Land Rover North America's primary videography team since 1987, was assigned the task to write and film new footage for a joint Land Rover/Jaguar DVD that was to be used to introduce the 2003 model lines to both the press and public on a 12-city national tour.

Solution: Black Rock Consulting was engaged to write narration voiceover marketing copy for the DVD that would be accessible to automotive enthusiasts and the press, while providing technical and lifestyle information about the vehicles. Professional driving services were also rendered during the production, both for on road handling of various Jaguar models as well as technical off-road use of the Land Rover products.
